To celebrate the sunny season, Brisbane indie/electro-pop group Confidence Man has created a DJ mix that serves as the perfect summer party playlist. It’s true to form, considering their 2024 album 3AM (LA LA LA) isn’t just about partying, but was largely written while they were doing just that. It’s a “collection of tunes Reggie [Goodchild, aka producer Lewis Stephenson] has been playing in the last few months and is gonna be playing through summer. They’re hot, sweaty, and fun, just like us,” Aidan “Sugar Bones” Moore tells Apple Music. The band members plan to spend their summer at “Con Man dance camp—cocktails, beach, cigarettes—in Mexico for a few weeks. It’ll be tough, but someone’s gotta do it,” Moore jokes. As for the perfect place to play their mix, he has a very specific recommendation in mind: “A cliff rave on the Galápagos Islands at the exact peak of the summer solstice, which should be at around 1:06 am this year.”
