Eric Clapton may be “back home” on this 2005 LP, offering a familiar combination of rich blues rock and downtempo reggae, but the guitarist certainly doesn’t sound at rest. Even against the swaying rhythms of "Revolution," Clapton’s vocals are filled with tension, backed by a choir of gospel singers echoing his resentment and anger. "I'm Going Left," meanwhile, lets loose with a funky brass section, laying the groundwork for a climactic, liberating guitar solo.
