Ride Out

Ride Out

Eight years since the platinum-selling Face the Promise, the King of Heartland Rock returns with the self-produced Ride Out, which features covers of John Hiatt’s “Detroit Made,” Steve Earle’s “The Devil’s Right Hand,” Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson’s “Adam and Eve” (a duet with Laura Creamer), and “California Stars,” where Wilco put music to Woody Guthrie’s lyrics. Six originals (nine on the deluxe edition) come from Bob Seger himself, including the environmentally conscious “It’s Your World,” the title-track romp, and a classic midtempo “All of the Roads.” Recorded in Nashville, Ride Out is bluesy, countrified, and hard rockin’.
