Though his early albums were dominated by raucous, rule-breaking dancehall, Buju Banton’s sixth record is infused with a spirit of Rastafarian consciousness and benevolence. Sax and organ turn the softly sung “23rd Psalms” into a hymn, while Banton’s telltale rugged voice contrasts with the smooth delivery of Luciano on “We’ll Be Alright”. Rancid contribute their chiming guitars to “No More Misty Days”, and the digi-dancehall of “Women Dem Phat” harks back to Banton’s profane past.
