DEVASTATIA

DEVASTATIA

Since becoming the first winner of Canada’s Drag Race, singer and television personality Priyanka (or Mark Suknanan out of drag) has made it clear she’s out for world domination. After all, she’s the first Indo-Caribbean champion in franchise history, has racked up millions of streams on her 2021 EP Taste Test and is the co-host of the Emmy-winning HBO show We’re Here. On her new pop album DEVASTATIA, Priyanka sounds self-assured, glamorous and singular. “It has this kind of cuntiness to it,” she tells Apple Music about the title track. Priyanka delivers a versatile and refreshing album with a masterful blend of dancehall (“Problem Pageant”), drag and Bollywood influences (“GUCCIYANKA”) that defy apprehensions. Like any pop princess, Priyanka takes us on a journey through the unwavering confidence required to demand the world stage. And DEVASTATIA is an ode to how grounded she’s become in her stardom. “I’m owning it,” she says. “I’m saying, ‘I am going to continue to be the way that I’m going to be, and there’s no box that I’m going to be put in.’”
