“I think we put a lot of love and care into it,” Omar Courtz tells Apple Music about his 2026 album POR SI MAÑANA NO ESTOY. “We went the extra mile.” Recorded in various spots including Miami, the Dominican Republic’s Casa de Campo and Luny Tunes’ storied Mas Flow Studios in Carolina, the follow-up to his Puerto Rico-centric PRIMERA MUSA expands its purview with ambitiously cinematic scope. “If I’m not here tomorrow, I want to leave something behind,” he says. “A collector’s item for my people.” With substantial Jersey club flourishes, “EL MUNDO SE VA A ACABAR” lives up to the album’s titular ethos, living for the moment and making it count. A retro-futuristic vibe pervades these 70 minutes of music, be that through the nostalgic perreo of “SUSU”, the late-night R&B push of “Dulces SueñoZzz” with Rubí or the impossibly smooth Miami bass of “GANTEL y BELLAKz”. That said, the glistening Afrobeats of “KOKO” and the pop maximalism of “SI ESTÁS CON ALGUIEN” leave no question as to the modern provenance of Courtz’s craft. “I’m going to confess that Ñengo Flow’s session was the studio session that I enjoyed the most,” he says, further citing their “FOREVER TU GANTEL” team-up as perhaps his favorite track on the album. “When I do a collaboration, it’s like, how can I bring out the best in that artist?” Here, both artists present strong versions of their styles on the sensual, slow-motion standout. Other noteworthy features come from the likes of Myke Towers and Eladio Carrión, who bring their innate versatility to “WHAT U NEED?” and “M O O N L I G H T,” respectively.
