The DJ and producer grew up in Missouri City, Texas, just outside of Houston, where he soaked up the local culture and met childhood friend Travis Scott; later, as a college DJ, he’d play Scott’s unreleased demos at house parties. Be Very Afraid, the first full-length CHASE B project, serves as the Cactus Jack signee’s official introduction, presenting the highlights from his seven years as a producer. CHASE B doesn’t rap, but his beats speak for him—dark and dreamy with an electronic sheen, drawing out the spacey side of NASA’s hometown. Alongside a handful of past hits (like “Ring Ring” with Don Toliver, Quavo and Ty Dolla $ign and “Street Sweeper” with Swae Lee, both from 2023) are star-studded new cuts like “Facts”, a Cleo Sol-sampling duet with Travis Scott and Big Sean.
