A master of melodic expression, colourful orchestration and magnificent harmonies, Tchaikovsky is probably the most prominent Russian composer. However, some of his programmatic orchestral works, choral music and lesser-known piano pieces remain quite unknown to the public, or at the very least deserve to be heard more often.
