FUJIFABRIC Essentials

Fujifabric began kicking around Tokyo in the early '00s, gaining attention with vigorous, angular and electrifying rock workouts—all warp-speed percussion, gritty vocals and crushing guitars. Early hits like "Ginga" and "Passion Fruit" featured sticky bass lines, gooey synth and frenetic energy, placing them in the centre of the post-hardcore movement of the time. After original frontman Masahiko Shimura passed away in 2009, guitarist Sōichirō Yamauchi stepped into his place and shaped the group's subsequent hits—like 2014's "LIFE"—with a brighter, pop-rock sound.
