The alt-pop singer’s high-energy 2025 album gets an eight-song upgrade. Lights’ album A6 was the sort of high-energy synth-pop blitz that made you feel like you’d just finished a spin class. But the Toronto singer still had enough gas in the tank to bring us A6EXTENDED, which keeps the workout going with eight equally uptempo bonus tracks that collapse the space between ’80s MTV and 2010s Tumblr. “EDUCATION” sets the Flashdance flashback vibe with its pulse-racing drum machine rhythms, while “THE CITY IS FALLING” hits the freeway on a motorik electro-rock beat redolent of fellow Canadians Metric. But A6EXTENDED also makes space for songs that didn’t quite fit into the original album’s manic milieu, like the neon-hued slow jam “FINAL ROUND” and the skeletal guitar ballad “ANGELINA.”
