How serious was Valerie Anne Poxleitner about putting her nickname Lights front and centre? So serious that she changed her name legally to Lights when she turned 18. It was just a few years later that the singer/songwriter released her 2009 debut, The Listening, an album sparkling with her cool coo and electronic pop textures. Siberia brought bold new dimensions to her sound while Little Machines earned her a Juno Award for Pop Album of the Year, cementing Lights as a luminous presence on the Canadian music map.
