Bold backup singers who quickly commanded the spotlight, Vika and Linda Bull joined The Black Sorrows in the late 1980s; hear Vika’s explosive turn on the party-starting “Never Let Me Go”. The Melburnian sisters lent their close harmonies and soulful intensity to Archie Roach's 1990 classic Charcoal Lane, bonding with Australian songwriting icon Paul Kelly in the process. Kelly shepherded Vika & Linda’s self-titled debut LP in 1994, and has often enlisted them in his live and recording bands since then. But the sisters stand just as strong on their own, embracing their Tongan roots whether they’re inhabiting reggae, gospel or Americana.
