Rapper T-Wayne broke through in 2015 with “Nasty Freestyle,” a viral hit that has been streamed hundreds of millions of times. • Hailing from Abilene, Texas, T-Wayne was inspired to start freestyling by the Eminem movie 8 Mile. He’s also influenced by local heroes like Mike Jones, DJ Screw, and Bun B. • True to its name, “Nasty Freestyle” is a freestyle over the beat from Bandit Gang Marco’s 2015 hit “Nasty.” After T-Wayne’s remix blew up, inspiring fans to post their own lip-sync and dance videos, T-Wayne signed with 300 Entertainment.
