WOLF!

A groove-drenched, Brooklyn-based instrumental rock trio, Wolf! comprise guitarist Scott Metzger, bassist Jon Shaw, and drummer Taylor Floreth. Their sound is marked by clean guitar tones, tight vamping, and an approach that showcases Metzger's expression of the grand Fender Telecaster rock and roots tradition that encompasses players ranging from Danny Gatton and Albert Collins to Bill Frisell and Roy Buchanan. Metzger has worked with TriBeCaStan, Trixie Whitley, Anders Osborne, Erik Deutsch, and Marco Benevento. He formed Wolf! in 2012 to play live dates. The band issued a digital-only five-track EP entitled Frightenin' in 2012. Their self-titled debut album was recorded for Royal Potato Family, and released in 2015. ~ Thom Jurek
