About Calidore String Quartet

After receiving some of the most prestigious awards in the chamber music field, the Calidore Quartet was signed to the Signum Classics label. The quartet has premiered new works from a range of major composers but also performs mainstream repertory. The Calidore String Quartet was formed at the Colburn Conservatory of Music, at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, in 2010. Its first recording, featuring quartets by Haydn and Mendelssohn, appeared on the Colburn School's own label. The members since the quartet's founding have been violinists Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, violist Jeremy Berry, and cellist Estelle Choi. The year 2020 brought the thematic album, Babel, featuring quartets by Schumann, Shostakovich, and Caroline Shaw. In 2023, the Calidore String Quartet began a cycle of Beethoven string quartets with an album of the composer's late quartets.
