Yeison Jimenez

Born in 1991 in Manzanares, Yeison Jiménez was a popular Colombian singer and songwriter. Of humble origins, Jiménez grew up dividing his passion for music with a variety of menial jobs to help his family. Indelibly associated with what in Colombia is typically called "popular music," a highly sentimental genre dealing with heartbreak, suffering, and everyday life, Jiménez inspired his audience with his moving performances and tales of resilience in the face of adversity. He died in a plane crash in January 2026 at the age of 34.
