Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman are a jazz-based power trio whose music mixes the muscular impact of hard rock with the sonic exploration of angular funk free jazz. They are fittingly named for the iconic civil rights activist and abolitionist. Coming together in the late '90s, they have issued several highly engaging albums including 2000's Prototype, and 2017's Araminta -- the latter featured trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith. In 2026 they collaborated with Georgia Anne Muldrow on the co-billed Electrical Field of Love.
