Nicola Alaimo

Nicola Alaimo is a leading Italian baritone particularly celebrated for his performances of Rossini, Donizetti, and Verdi buffo and character roles. Donizetti's Don Pasquale has become one of his signature roles, which he has performed on many major European stages. He is the nephew of famed bass-baritone Simone Alaimo, who helped guide his early training in Palermo. Nicola Alaimo's discography includes a 2013 Donizetti recording with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and a 2018 album of Rossini excerpts. He is featured on selected volumes of Opera Rara's Donizetti song collection, namely the second volume released in 2024 and the eighth volume from 2026. He can also be seen on a 2022 recording of Verdi's Falstaff, filmed live at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under John Eliot Gardiner.
