About Jarrod Lawson
Jarrod Lawson is a Nashville-based composer, keyboardist, and singer who is heavily inspired by the likes of Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. Like those legends, he incorporates social and spiritual messages into his uplifting sound. His chops suggest a broad range of musical knowledge and a deep connection to jazz; as a vocalist alone, he has been favorably compared to Al Jarreau and Mark Murphy. Lawson made his recorded debut with Jarrod Lawson (2014), an accolade-garnering set that established a longstanding affiliation with Dome Records in the U.K. He cut an eclectic set of instrumentals under his Orpheus alias before he returned under his birth name with Be the Change (2020), which nearly topped Billboard's Contemporary Jazz chart. Another active six years passed before Lawson issued Just Let It, a rich third album containing appearances from Raquel Rodriguez, Eric Roberson, and Allen Stone, among others.
