Vicki Peterson

Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Vicki Peterson was already familiar to rock and roots music fans for her solid playing, strong harmonies, and knack for great tunes when she stepped forward as a solo artist for the first time in 2025. Peterson first found fame as a member of the Bangles, who scored a massive hit with 1986's Different Light, and she teamed up with members of the dB's, the Dream Syndicate, and the Cowsills to form the Continental Drifters, who wowed critics and earned a cult following with their blend of country, folk, and rock on 1999's Vermillion. Given her many other projects, Peterson didn't get around to cutting a solo effort until she teamed up with her musical partner (and husband) John Cowsill to cut an engaging country-rock LP, 2025's Long After the Fire.
