Krokofant

Krokofant is a progressive jazz-rock trio from Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway, comprising guitarist Tom Hasslan, saxophonist Jørgen Mathisen, and drummer Axel Skalstad. The trio quickly gained popularity in Norway as part of its burgeoning, 21st century jazz-rock scene. Their self-titled debut album was issued by Rune Grammofon in March of 2014, and followed subsequently by Krokofant 2 (2016) and Krokofant 3 (2017). The trio expanded into a quintet for 2019's Q, bringing aboard keyboardist Ståle Storløkken and bassist Ingebrigt Håker Flaten. Following a European tour, the quintet recorded 2019's Q and embarked on tours of Western and Northern Europe. Following the pandemic, Krokofant resumed touring as a trio and eventually signed with Is It Jazz? 6, their label debut, appeared in January 2025.
