About The Bellamy Brothers
The Bellamy Brothers are a pair of Florida cowboys who found success on the Pop charts and moved into country music for a career lasting over 40 years. ∙ David and Howard Bellamy broke through when Jim Stafford’s “Spiders & Snakes”—a song written by David—became one of 1974’s biggest hits. ∙ The duo’s 1976 debut single, “Let Your Love Flow,” was an international smash, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topping the charts in several other countries. ∙ “If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body Would You Hold It Against Me” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Singles chart in 1979, kicking off a run of more than two dozen Top 10 songs. ∙ Their 1985 single “Old Hippie” was included in Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Country Songs of All Time. ∙ Country star Blake Shelton recorded a version of their song “Redneck Girl” in 2007, while “Let Your Love Flow” has been covered by such artists as Joan Baez, Ray Charles, and Petra Haden. ∙ Beginning in 2018, The Bellamy Brothers began starring in their own reality TV show, Honky Tonk Ranch. ∙ They’ve been nominated for a Grammy, 2 Dove Awards, 12 Academy of Country Music Awards, and 17 Country Music Association Awards.
