About Niarn

Niarn is a Danish rapper from Aalborg who emerged in the mid-2000s to chart-topping success. Born Niels Roos on September 9, 1979, in Gug, Denmark, he made his solo recording debut in 2002 with the six-track Glenn Francisco EP on Run for Cover Records. A couple years later he made his full-length album debut with Årgang 79 (2004) on Copenhagen Records. The album peaked at number 17 on the Danish albums chart. In the wake of this breakout success, the Glenn Francisco EP was remastered for reissue in 2005 and proved popular, adding to the rapper's fan base. Niarn's rising popularity culminated in the chart-topping success of his second album, Antihelt (2006). The album includes the singles "Bare Sig Til" and "Blok 13." Third album Rød Ålborg (2009) was similarly successful, peaking at number seven on the albums chart and spawning the singles "Undskyld (Jeg Var Fuld)" and "Moderne." ~ Jason Birchmeier
