Simran Choudhary

Chandigarh-origin singer-songwriter Simran Choudhary has championed a combination of Indian folk music and contemporary pop like few others. She rose to wider attention as a finalist on The Voice India in 2019, but it was her independent work that defined her. Her 2023 EP Folkin Rani presented powerful, catchy Punjabi folk textures with clean, modern pop production across tracks such as “Aa Gya Ni”. Beyond fusion, Choudhary leading each track as singer and lyricist has generated a body of work marked by emotional sincerity. Her single “Rehle Mere Kol” (2025)—with fellow pop star Aditya Rikhari and producer Hiten—is proof, while she also adds a folky charm to film songs such as “Aayi Nai” from Stree 2 (2024), composed by Sachin-Jigar. Her crossover into Bollywood's bigger stages arrived with Dhurandhar (2025) as she sang and wrote “Lut Le Gaya” which, set to Shashwat Sachdev's striking production, became the soundtrack's earworm.
