Leusemia

About Leusemia

Peruvian Leusemia's history began when brothers Gustavo and Daniel Valdivia, also known as Kimba Vilis and Daniel F., started composing in the mid-'70s. After bassist Leopoldo LaRosa joined in, Leusemia made their live debut in 1983 at Lima's La Caverna. Local label El Virrey signed them up in 1985, issuing a self-titled album, produced by Juan Alberto Matta, followed by A La Mierda Lo Demás, released by Huasipungo Producciones, that same year. In 1986, soon after Daniel Valdivia decided to leave, Leusemia disbanded. Nevertheless, the group returned in 1998 with a double album called Moxón, followed by 1999's Yasijah. ~ Drago Bonacich
