About Jeannette Lambert
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I would listen to jazz albums on vinyl and scribble out the lyrics, then sing them with my brother Reg playing guitar. I still have those handwritten pages. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Mirror Lake (feat. Michel Lambert & Reg Schwager)” This track includes the song of a white throated sparrow, a bird that melodically haunted my childhood. It sums up those bittersweet memories and also my love of nature. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Recording in a studio with Paul Bley was truly outstanding. As we improvised together the music flowed effortlessly. It can be heard on Sand Underfoot. Documenting unusual meetings like this is so important and our motivation for having a label. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I look forward to collaborating with great improvisors world-wide. I would also love a live performance of my Opera of the Unspoken, and I'd enjoy creating new versions of the opera for different unspoken stories.
