About The Dark Tenor
Operating from the admirable position that classical music should be accessible to everyone, the Dark Tenor offers the works of Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and others in a most unusual setting, with theatrical rock arrangements and melodramatic original lyrics. The Austrian-born singer broke through on the German charts with 2014 debut Symphony of Light, a release hyped in part by the artist’s then-anonymity; he’s since simplified his approach somewhat, even incorporating grandiose arrangements of familiar pop and rock songs on albums like Album X (2023) and Symphony of Light 2 (2025).
