Jasmeen Akhtar

Jasmeen Akhtar’s emotive voice is familiar to anyone who’s listened to contemporary Punjabi music. The Ludhiana-born talent, who can switch between sweet and sassy in an instant, has released over 300 singles since debuting in 2014 with the prophetically titled “The Singing Queen”. Like her older sister, the equally renowned Gurlej Akhtar, she’s worked with big names in Punjabi pop who have called on her to add a folky or feisty flavour to their ballads and bangers. Among her most-streamed tunes are collaborations such as “Police” (2025) with Cheema Y and Gur Sidhu, “Fly Karke” (2024) with Sabba, and “Bande 4” (2025) with Dr Zeus and Watan Sahi.
