Like that of her sister Frances and ex-De Dannan cohort Maura O'Connell, Mary Black's music is firmly rooted in the Celtic folk tradition but often encompasses pop, country, jazz and other styles. One of the most popular artists in Ireland, she found success in the U.S. as well throughout the 1990s.
