Born in South London, chameleonic producer TroyBoi straddles the worlds of dance and hip-hop, defying categorization with a worldly sound that combines elements of vogue, house, dubstep, trap, and future bass. • Inspired by the work of Pharrell and Timbaland, TroyBoi took a music technology class and produced his first song when he was 14. • Destined for greatness, his first handful of releases included singles with scene icons Flosstradamus (“Soundclash”) and Diplo (“Afterhours”). • TroyBoi’s V!BEZ EP series, which kicked off in 2018, showcases his myriad influences with a no-holds-barred approach to rhythm, tempo, and melody. • His 2017 debut album, Left is Right, celebrates his uniqueness and rejection of rules. TroyBoi mixes classic soul with streetwise grit on the hit “ili,” blends future bass with trap on “O.G.,” and even nabs a rare Ice Cube feature on “Look At Me.”
