Steel Pulse’s 1982 message of love is a 40-year reality. DakhaBrakha is authentic (see "Vesna Chilli," about the coming of spring). Sona Jobarteh delivers stunning kora and spiritual authority. "The water is pure and the current is strong, the seasons change but she keeps singing her song." A tribute to the love and strength of women, flowing like a river. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In Mexico I sang for life-sentence prisoners in ankle chains as guards with machine guns patrolled the yard. When the wind blew and scattered water everywhere from a recent rain, it established my credibility as a “bruja” (medicine woman). Good show!
