In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember I was about 6 years old and I heard my uncle Listoriel Torres for the first time sing us a song he wrote about his home in Cuba What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Paul Simon, Graceland (25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) Tears for Fears, The Tipping Point The Beatles, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band These 3 albums represent my influence as a songwriter. All these artists reflect my development as a songwriter throughout the years of my career. Tell us why you chose this song. “Bendita Cuba” This song is special to me personally because I wrote it for my mother while she was living her last days. The song tells the story of her life and her bravery. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? One of the most memorable moments in my career was when I was nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Latin Pop Album for my indie album "Individual". Very proud of that record. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes there are always goals and challenges that I like to put on myself as an artist. I'd like to write a musical based on the story of my mother who left Cuba at an early age with my brother and I to find a better life in NYC.
