About Nava

Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Nava (born Rodolfo Barreras), son of filmmaker Rolando Barreras and local actress Ana Rodríguez, became involved in music in the late '70s after composing "A Quién Vas a Engañar" for Wilkins, later, writing Yolandita Monge's "Al Ritmo de la Fantasia" and Charytín's "Se Acabó el Amor." After assembling his own Latin rock band, Rodolfo Barreras started touring the U.S. for the first time. When he returned to his native country, Nava, which means new love in an aboriginal language, created a new project called Mazara Nava, making an album featuring "Si Tú Supieras," later recorded by Pedro Fernández. After working along with Ednita Nazario and Olga Tañón, among other Latin artists, Nava made a self-titled album, released in 2000, featuring the hit single "El Amor los Tres." ~ Drago Bonacich
