About Will Dawes

Will Dawes is Director of Chapel Music at Somerville College, Oxford University, and has directed or sung with a wide range of other English choirs. He is also a baritone singer who performs with the early music group Stile Antico and has appeared as a soloist in works of various kinds, including opera. In 2007, Dawes landed posts as director of the Henley Choral Society and chorus master of the Ludus Baroque chorus. As a singer, he joined the group Sospiri and was heard on its 2008 album A Medieval Christmas. Dawes appeared as a bass vocalist on Peter Gabriel's 2010 album Scratch My Back. In 2014, Dawes became the first director of the new Frideswide Voices. With the Somerville College Choir, he released The Dawn of Grace: Music for Christmas in 2022.
