Beartooth

Caleb Shomo started hardcore-punk band Beartooth—named after the street Bear Tooth Court in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio—as a side-project during his time in electronicore group Attack Attack! ∙ Shomo produced and played all the instruments on Beartooth’s 2013 debut EP, Sick, which he gave away on the band’s website. ∙ Beartooth’s 2016 LP, Aggressive, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Albums chart. ∙ The songs on Beartooth’s third album, 2018’s Disease, deal with Shomo’s struggles with chronic depression. ∙ Shomo has had a major impact on the worldwide hardcore scene, singing with Japan’s Crossfaith and cowriting with Australia’s Hands Like Houses and Las Vegas’ Escape the Fate.
