About John Egan

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember seeing Beatlemania at 14, amazed that pop music could be social commentary. I had always thought of it as insubstantial. I was blown away by this - and by the Beatles phenomenon. I believe this was when my journey as a songwriter began. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Dylan, Blood On The Tracks Lucinda Williams, Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone The Clash, London Calling Expanded Edition It's so hard to choose just three, but of the many albums I love, these were the first three that came to mind. Great songwriting, great performances, tremendous energy and passion. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Wish You Were Here” I felt this song was the best piece of writing I had done up until then. The pieces of the puzzle finally fell into place - the craft had caught up with the heart. So satisfying to get back from a song as much as I put into it, if that makes sense. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I remember having a regular booking at T.T. the Bears in Cambridge, Massachusetts Thursday nights in the late 80's. It was The Pixies, then December Sons (that was us), and then O-Positive. Great place, good crowds, and fun bands to play with! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? My main goal at this stage of my career is to grow our audience and share our music with as many people as possible.
