About Erik Hall

Erik Hall is a Michigan-based composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and engineer working across several different genres. He first became known as a member of Afrobeat fusionists NOMO, and later for his folky indie rock project In Tall Buildings, which released three albums during the 2010s. Additionally, he recorded and toured with artists like His Name Is Alive and Wild Belle. Hall has composed or arranged music for Third Coast Percussion and Metropolis Ensemble. He has issued acclaimed minimalist recordings such as a 2020 solo interpretation of Steve Reich's Music for 18 Musicians and Simeon ten Holt's Canto Ostinato (released in 2023). Solo Three, including pieces by Glenn Branca and Laurie Spiegel, appeared in 2026.
