About Aida Cuevas
Traditional Mexican singer Aída Cuevas has been an iconic figure in her country's music since she was a teen. An impassioned performer with a resonant instrument, she readily evokes deep emotion, from sorrow to longing to joy. Her "songbook" albums -- such as 1987's Aída Cuevas Canta a Juan Gabriel, 1996's Canciones Inéditas de Maria Grever, and 2004's Suite Mexicana de Agustín Lara -- have played important roles in regional Mexican music. The Grammy- and Latin Grammy-winning Cuevas has recorded more than 40 albums, selling over 11 million copies. She issued Antología de la Música Ranchera, Vol. 2 in 2021.
