Italian band NanowaR of Steel provides an unlikely but welcome antidote to the occasional pretentious leaning of metal, sending up decades of European power metal and its excesses in spirited fashion. They are to the scene what "Weird Al" Yankovic is to American pop music, down to the longevity and acceptance by the peers they're teasing.
