The Sermon!

Made up of veterans of several other garage punk outfits, the Sermon began in San Francisco in 2000. Singer and theremin player Mike Gabriel was formerly in Pittsburgh, PA, group the Mount McKinleys, drummer Rob Alper played with the Fells, and other past and present members of the Sermon have played with the Dukes of Hamburg and the Revelers. Their high-energy maximum R&B rave-up first hit the public when 2004's Volume was released on Alternative Tentacles. ~ Wade Kergan
