About Robert Finley
Hailing from the town of Bernice, Louisiana, Robert Finley is an American singer/songwriter delivering traditional blues and soul music with elements of R&B and gospel. He released his debut solo record, Age Don't Mean a Thing, on Big Legal Mess in late 2016. Written entirely by Finley, the set was recorded in Memphis, Tennessee, with Bruce Watson and featured the Memphis-based funk ensemble the Bo-Keys. Finley then got to work on his sophomore effort with producer Dan Auerbach of blues-rock band the Black Keys. Goin' Platinum! saw release on Easy Eye Sound in 2017, and was followed by international touring and a competing stint on America's Got Talent in 2019. Finley issued the autobiographical Sharecropper's Son in 2021. Black Bayou arrived in 2023; unlike their previous collaborations, Finley, producer/guitarist Auerbach, and their studio cast composed the album's songs during recording sessions and tracked them in single takes.
