About Puscifer

Puscifer is an eclectic—and frequently off-color—music and performance-art collective driven by the playful whims of Tool and A Perfect Circle frontman Maynard James Keenan. ∙ In 1995, long before the project’s official debut, Keenan appeared as a member of a fictional band called Puscifer in the first episode of the TV comedy series Mr. Show. ∙ The first Puscifer song, a collaboration with Nine Inch Nails’ Danny Lohner called “Rev 22-20,” appeared on the soundtrack for the 2003 horror film Underworld. ∙ “V” Is for Vagina, the band’s 2007 debut LP, reached No. 9 on Billboard’s Top Rock Albums chart, and the group’s next two studio albums also cracked the Top 10. ∙ Puscifer has issued four different remix LPs, with reworks from such artists as Lustmord, Richard Devine, Sir Mix-a-Lot, and members of Ministry, Slipknot, and Isis. ∙ Their 2020 release Existential Reckoning debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums chart. ∙ The lineup has coalesced around Keenan, Carina Round, and Mat Mitchell, and past contributors have included musicians from Primus, Telefon Tel Aviv, and The Mars Volta.
