The vision of Brazilian indie rock legend Lê Almeida, Oruã mixes up longform psychedelic jams, flowing indie rock, meandering trips into experimentalism, and underneath it all, some lovely melodies along the way to creating a sound that very much reflects their experiences in their native country. Early albums incorporated more tape manipulation and noise, while being impressive enough that Built to Spill's Doug Martsch hired them as his backing band and trusted collaborators on 2022's When the Wind Forgets Your Name. The band themselves honed their skills to a fine point on 2024's Passe, then stretched out on a series of freeform psychedelic excursions on 2025's Slacker.
