About Raj Ranjodh
Lyricist and singer-composer Raj Ranjodh is among Punjabi music’s most prolific writers, with credits on hits for Diljit Dosanjh, Ammy Virk, Sharry Mann and Guru Randhawa while also establishing himself as a pop-R&B artist. A first-generation musician from Faridkot, Ranjodh spent his youth mastering the harmonium under the guidance of his mother and his guru J.P. Singh. By 2010, he’d made his mark as a solo artist with the album Hitler. Even with catchy singles such as “Jatt Raakhi” with Dr. Zeus in 2016, Ranjodh became increasingly known for crafting a modern Punjabi sound suited to voices like Diljit Dosanjh. He contributed extensively to Dosanjh’s 2025 album Aura, while tracks such as the high-energy “Water” and the evocative, record-breaking “Naina” from the Bollywood film Crew (2024) highlight the range of their collaboration. That partnership reached another high with the Bollywood anthem “Ez-Ez” for the Dhurandhar soundtrack, showcasing his knack for blending Punjabi folk grit with slick, cinematic pop. Whether releasing solo singles such as “Jeepan Waleya” (2026) or penning lyrics for international collaborations, including Dosanjh’s “Ranjha” featuring Sia, Ranjodh remains a central figure in the Punjabi wave.
