Draconian

With their melancholic, somber sound, Draconian navigate the realms of gothic, doom, and death metal. The Swedish group formed in 1994; amidst numerous lineup changes, the core remained the duo of vocalist Anders Jacobsson and guitarist Johan Ericson (who initially played drums). Vocalist Lisa Johansson joined the group in 2002, and they released their debut album, Where Lovers Mourn, in 2003. With subsequent albums -- Arcane Rain Fell (2005), The Burning Halo (2006), Turning Season Within (2008), and A Rose for the Apocalypse (2011) -- Draconian delved deeper into their dark, epic style. Johansson departed and was replaced by vocalist Heike Langhans, with whom the band recorded Sovran (2015) and Under a Godless Veil (2020). Johansson returned to the lineup in 2022, and in 2026, she sang lead on the band's eighth album, In Somnolent Ruin.
