About Sons-N-Britches
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. One of my earliest musical memories was waking up every morning to the sound of the radio. Our house was always filled with music, and I recall my Dad watching Austin City Limits on a small black and white television and me being enamored by it. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? James McMurtry, Complicated Game Led Zeppelin, Houses of the Holy (Deluxe Edition) Lynyrd Skynyrd, Second Helping Complicated Game is a truly a master class in songwriting. Houses of The Holy has the most interesting compositions I've heard. Second Helping is the everyman's album. Life, death, love, dirt and air can all be heard and felt. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Stained Glass Words” This song is probably the most lonely and and self reflective song about loss of identity and religious trauma. It weaves cultural ancestry and and generational trauma into a song that is beautifully heartbreaking. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Opening for one of our heroes, Roy Clark was quite special. Playing the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville in front of an audience captivated by songs you wrote and perform is rewarding and magical. Hearing our songs on the radio for the first time. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes - we would love to play The Caverns in Tennessee, Red Rocks Amphitheater, and to open for the Tedeschi Trucks Band.
