About Amy Stroup

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was sixteen my parents let me go to a concert three hours away in Dallas. I saw Patty Griffin open up for the Chicks, I remember going to Tower Records and buying every Patty Griffin album after and being so inspired to write songs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Van Morrison, The Essential Van Morrison Nothing better than Into The Mystic, Warm Love. They are other worldy. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Wait for the Morning” I wrote "Wait For The Morning" when I was struggling with a heavy hit of anxiety. I found that if I would go for a walk, tell someone I was struggling it would shift my perspective. Wait for The Morning is a metaphor for hanging on till a shift comes What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing to a sold out London Crowd opening for Kacey Musgaves at the Royal Albert Hall. My parents got their passports for the first time and left the USA to see me play. I haven't been able to get them to come see me at the Ryman in Nashville. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Write and perform with Brittney Howard of the Alabama Shakes. She is a national treasure.
