About Abigail Lapell
Abigail Lapell is a Canadian singer-songwriter with a wide-ranging sound that embraces alternative folk, country, rock, Americana, and even children's music. Since debuting in 2011 with Great Survivor, the self-described "prairie noir" artist has released a string of acclaimed efforts, including Hide Nor Hair (2017), Getaway (2019), and Stolen Time (2022) that pair flexible musicality with strong and poignant storytelling Her 2024 album Anniversary, a collaboration with indie folk group Great Lake Swimmers, earned a Juno nomination, while her 2023 children’s album Lullabies took home a Canadian Folk Music Award. In 2026, she released the motherhood-themed Shadow Child, featuring guest appearances by Jill Barber, Frazey Ford, Dana Sipos, and Pharis Romero.
