The Soundtrack of Our Lives

While it would be easy to lump Sweden's the Soundtrack of Our Lives in with the slew of pseudo-garage acts that rose to prominence after the White Stripes broke big in the early 2000s, to do so would be to overlook the various members' decades-long service to the Swedish rock-&-roll underground. TSOOL formed in the mid-1990s following the dissolution of legendary group Union Carbide Productions. Both bands shared a penchant for classic '60s sounds and punk's aesthetic sturm und drang; however, TSOOL are marked by a decidedly more accessible touch, one that earned them a Grammy nomination in 2003 for their album BEHIND THE MUSIC.
