About R.O.D.

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Growing up in Mississippi, racism and poverty weren’t just stories—they were daily realities. Music became my outlet, my resistance, and my escape. I started off rapping because that’s what my environment bred—raw expression, pain, and defiance. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? R.O.D., Luv Stories This is Where my R&B transition started. LUV STORIES, one of my biggest most important albums I’ve ever made. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “21 Questions” One of my most successful songs ever, real raw emotion and expression allowed me to create this masterpiece. Being vulnerable and transparent made this song age like fine wine. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing in Itta Bena, Mississippi right next to Mississippi Valley State University, one of the best HBCU’s in the country. I had family and friends with me and they all rapped every song with me and the crowd that night. I’ll never forget it. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I just want my core supporters enjoy good relatable music for years to come. Forever actually
